READY TO FLY

(Music and lyrics by Jason Bravo)

*Sometimes we’re drawn to take chances in life. While we sense that we need to try something that’s calling us, there can still be a bit of fear. This reminds me of the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe quote "Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."

Verse 1:
I’m ready to jump.
I’m not looking down.
Oh, what does it matter
If I can’t really see the ground?

I’ve seen enough
Unfulfilled eyes
To know it’s not far
Between real and the unrealized.

We deny what we’re feeling
So that if we fall
It won’t hurt at all.

We get by by concealing
What we wanna be,
Our destiny.

CHORUS:
But I
I’m ready to fly
I’m willing to fall
If that’s what it takes to have it all.

Verse 2:
I’m in control
Of what I believe.
Nobody else can decide
Or can say what I need.

I’ll honor my soul
And if I crash-land,
At least I’ll go down in flames
With the controls in my hand.

We’re given time, but we waste it
Waiting on guarantees
That can’t ever be.

Down the line, chances taken
Will bring me some peace of mind
‘Cause at least I’ll know I tried.

CHORUS:
So I
I’m ready to fly
I’m willing to fall
If that’s what it takes to have it all.

BRIDGE:
I can’t say that I’m not afraid,
But this is the choice that I’ve made.
I look up and all around.
Can’t tell if I’m above or below the clouds.
I can’t see the road up ahead.
Guess I’ll follow what I feel instead.
I’ll make friends with the unknown.
I’ll walk in the dark until I finally find my way
Home…
For the first time.

CHORUS:
Now I
I’m ready to fly
I’m willing to fall
If that’s what it takes to have it all.
